May 25th Celtics assistant coach Sam Cassel is optimistic about Jason Tatum's prospects for a return after surgery and believes he will return to the top NBA players after a full recovery in the Achilles tendon surgery.

Earlier, Kassel said on Patrick Beverly's podcast that while Tatum was recuperating, he planned to help Tatum learn how to see the game from a coach's perspective.

Kassel said: "It's pretty good. When he comes back, he will become stronger. During the injury recovery period, he can have more time to watch the game and train for the parts that need to be improved. I'm very much looking forward to this journey with him. This year he is one of the top five players in the NBA All-Team All-Team All-Team All-Team All-Team All-Team All-Starting this year. He will still be the NBA All-Team All-Starting player when he comes back. He's so good."

In the Eastern Conference semi-finals, Tatum's injury ended the hope of a Celtics' reversal series and may also lead to a bad prospect for the team's championship next season. But Kassel is still confident in the team's long-term future.

He said: "We have a great group of players, and they all understand our situation. We said to everyone at the time, 'Guys, we're behind 1-3, it's okay. We'll take the lead again, just take the opportunity.' We've actually led every game. It's just that sometimes the God of Basketball doesn't favor us. But we'll grow from it. As a coaching staff, we grow; as a team, we grow. We're the Boston Celtics, man."
