He announced his retirement in just two years in the NBA and made 2.8 million in 13 games. Has his goal been achieved?

If you ask those stars, why did you enter the NBA?
Half of people will say that of course it is to make money and change the fate of the whole family;
The other half will say that it is my dream and pursuit;
But if you ask him, he will tell you a completely different answer, "For my father", the player who brought his father to the battle is Tiller Terry, and you may have never heard of this name at all. Yes, his presence is like krill in Antarctica, and the sand in the desert, which does not attract any attention at all. Most importantly, three years ago, he suddenly announced his retirement and ended his career early.
Next, let's talk about this alternative former NBA star.
Terry was born in an ordinary working family. Because he came too suddenly, he broke his parents' original plan. His father had to give up his dream of pursuing basketball, and then devoted himself to society and found a job to support his family. In order to take care of him, his mother also dropped out of school and became a full-time mother. To outsiders, Trey's parents are indeed great, but for the smart Trey, this has become a burden and even had a huge impact on his heart.
"If I were not born, my parents' life might be much easier. Maybe my dad can play basketball successfully, and my mom will not be that difficult to complete her studies."
This is what Trey expressed in the interview after retirement.
It can be imagined that Terry would have a childhood, and his parents' unfulfilled wishes will be placed on him alone. On one hand, he has heavy studies and boring training. Fortunately, he is really smart. He not only has friendship, but also has good results in basketball. He entered the top 100 list in the United States early. Terry has accurate shooting skills and a very high ball quotient. He can predict the opponent's defensive strategy in advance, and then mobilizes his teammates to run and use the passing of the scalpel to tear the defense line.
After graduating from high school, Terry received several scholarships, including Stanford University, the latter's recruitment standards are not just basketball talent, but their requirements for grades are also extremely strict, but Terry passed the exam easily, which is enough to show how high his IQ is. In his first year of college, Terry handed over a record card with 14.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists, with a shooting percentage of 44.1%, and a three-point shooting percentage of 40.8%. He was selected as the Pacific 12 League's All-Rookie Team. His pick-and-roll offensive efficiency, unball running and court reading ability are quite like Stephen Curry.
In the later joint test, Terry also shined. He broke the 2.64-second historical record held by Brogdon with a 2.59-second turnover. In addition, in the tests of basketball IQ by multiple teams, Terry also frequently broke the records of each team. In the end, he was picked up by the Mavericks in the second round.
So far, 20-year-old Terry has fulfilled his parents' two major wishes, prestigious schools + landed in the NBA, but under the happy smile of his parents, who noticed Terry with expressionless expression? Is this everything he wants? Terry, who had unloaded the burden, felt unprecedented relaxation, but this also caused him to lose the motivation to continue moving forward, especially after he was unable to enter the main rotation, his relationship with Terry several times broke down. He did not come to support his son like before, and his guilt filled Terry's whole body again. He found the Mavericks management and requested psychological treatment, but the process was not smooth, and it led to Terry's relationship with the team, laying the groundwork for later transactions.
In Memphis, Teres faced the same problem. The management's discomfort and his father's no longer support became the straw that broke Terry's last line of defense. He gradually became disgusted with basketball and finally announced his retirement, leaving only 13 game records. However, even so, Teres still took away a lot of wealth from the NBA, with a total of $2.89 million.
"I succeeded. I have done everything my parents want me to do. I got into Stanford. I also entered the NBA and made my first pot of gold, but I was not satisfied. I knew at the time that I did this for them in a large part. Then my dad never came again... Whether it was my fault or not, whether it was because of my mental health problems, I would say I was in the NBA Failed. I accept it. I have talent, but this does not inspire me or bring me satisfaction." After retirement, Terry chose to return to Stanford University to continue pursuing his studies. As for what kind of career he will pursue in the future, he has not yet figured out. Terry's story is a microcosm of the collision of ideals and reality - talent can knock on the door, but the corridor behind the door needs to walk alone with flesh and blood. His exit was not a failure, but a question to the professional sports ecology: When "survival of the fittest" becomes the only law, who should light up the way home for those falling stars?
