7:45am, 4 June 2025【Basketball】

Although some NBA stars can average triple-double per game in a single season, the following nine NBA stars have never won triple-double in a game.

triple-double is an excellent way to show the player's overall strength. It reflects the comprehensiveness of players' contributions in various data, scoring 10 points in at least three data. Therefore, it is normal for the greatest player to occasionally win triple-double, and it is common for players like Nikola Jokic to average triple-double per game in a season. However, not all great players can get even a triple-double. Here are the 10 greatest NBA players who have never won a triple-double.

Look at these photos.

Moses Malone

Moses Malone was one of the greatest big players of his peak. He has won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award three times, was selected as an NBA All-Star 12 times, and averaged two-double in his career. He also led the Philadelphia 76ers to the NBA championship in 1983 and won the Finals Most Valuable Player.

But surprisingly, Malone never won a triple-double in 1455 games. Still, he did get close to a triple-double in his 1983 game against the San Diego Clippers, scoring 28 points, 16 rebounds and nine blocks in the 76ers' 124-116 win over the Clippers.

Manu Ginobili

Manu Ginobili is one of the most iconic players in the history of the San Antonio Spurs. The Argentine superstar is a key figure in helping the Spurs win four NBA championships. He also won the NBA Sixth Person of the Year title and was selected for the NBA All-A-Telecom twice. Although Ginobili never won a triple-double, he tends to value team wins more than personal achievements, which makes him easily a fan favorite and eventually inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Kevin McHale

Kevin McHale is one of the best power forwards in NBA history. He was one of the pillars of the Boston Celtic dynasty of the 1980s and fits perfectly with Larry Bird. The 6-foot-10-inch power forward has been a stable double-double threat for the team. Although he never scored a triple-double, he was close to a triple-double in a 117-106 win over the Chicago Bulls in 1983, when he came off the bench, scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine blocks. Despite this, McHale still has the pride of three NBA championships.

Yao Ming

Yao Ming is perhaps the best basketball player in Asia. As a 7-foot-6-inch-tall center, he undoubtedly far surpassed his time. In fact, he is the only Asian NBA player to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. With his super strong body shape, Yao Ming can score triple-double scores, rebounds and blocks at any time in his career. If he had played in the modern basketball era, he would have had more freedom to create opportunities for his teammates at low posts. Unfortunately, injuries ultimately hindered his career.

Dominic Wilkins

Dominic Wilkins has been the face of the Atlanta Hawks for more than a decade. He eventually became the core player of the team, was selected for the All-Star Game nine times and was awarded the scoring title in 1986. Although Wilkins can almost do whatever he wants on the court, the former Hawks star never aims for a triple-double, and his goal is mainly focused on scoring.

George Gevin

Another superstar who failed to win a triple-double in his career is George Gevin. The four-time scoring champion plays an important role in the team, which is scoring. Gewen is the ultimate scoring machine, the nine-time NBA All-Star player has never scored less than double digits in his NBA career. Although he has won some double-doubles in his career, triple-doubles have always been out of reach.

Bob McAdou

Bob McAdou was one of the best big players of the time. In fact, he won the NBA championship twice and was awarded the NBA Most Valuable Player in 1975. McAdu is also a machine that can get two pairs every night. He focuses primarily on scoring and rebounding and rarely creates opportunities for his teammates. However, he nearly scored a triple-double in his 1978 match against the New York Knicks. McAdu scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists in the game.

Archibould Jr.

Although he is only 6 feet 1 inch (about 1.93 meters), Nate "Junior" Archibald is a very threatening double-double player. In fact, the short guard led the NBA's scoring and assists list in the 1972-73 season. However, due to his height, it is difficult for him to get at least 10 rebounds. Although he did approach a triple-double multiple times, he has never achieved a triple-double in his brilliant career.

Lamarcus Aldridge

Lamarcus Aldridge at his peak was one of the best power forwards in the NBA. With accurate mid-range shooting and good rebounding, winning a double-double is just a common occurrence for Aldridge. But for a player who is not good at creating opportunities for teammates and does not have defensive threats, it is no surprise that the seven-time NBA All-Star player has difficulty winning a triple-double.
