According to NBA reporter Keith Smith, the Grizzlies have officially waived their free agent rights to four players, including Japanese star players Yuki Kawamura and Yuta Watanabe.

The move is part of a broader strategy to create the necessary cap space to renegotiate and extend the contract for star forward Jaren Jackson Jr.

Yuki Kawamura played 22 games for the Grizzlies last season, averaging slightly more than 4 minutes of playing time and scored 1.6 points. He is currently representing the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Summer League.

Yota Watanabe is a veteran with six years of NBA experience. He played for Japan's Chiba Jets last season, averaging 13.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
