9:22pm, 23 May 2025【Basketball】

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley is the NBA's defensive player of the year this season. He ranks among the top of the league's all-defensive team announced by the NBA today. The specific scores are as follows:

The best defensive team first team

Mobley was also selected as the best defensive first team player in the 2022-23 season. Atlanta defender Dyson Daniels, Oklahoma City defender Lugent Dort, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green and Houston defender Amen Thompson also joined the first team.

Mobley: 23-year-old Mobley averaged 1.6 blocks per game in 64 wins of the Cavaliers. In the first four seasons, he has established himself as one of the most versatile big men in the league. He won 99 out of 100 first-team votes, and he and Daniels are the only players nominated for all 100 votes.

Green is the only previous defender of the year to be selected for the first team this season (2017), and has been selected for the first team five times after averaging 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks for the Warriors this season. He won 91 first-team votes. Green was selected into the all-defensive lineup for a total of nine times, tied for the seventh most in NBA history with Hall of Famers Dennis Johnson, Michael Jordan, Jason Kidd, Hakeem Olajuwon, Gary Payton and future Hall of Famer Chris Paul.

Daniels, Dortmund and Thompson were selected for the full defense for the first time.

Daniels averaged three steals per game in his first year with the Hawks, making him the most steals in the NBA this season, with his 229 steals being the most in the NBA since Payton 231 in 1996.

Dortmund is one of the best point guards in the NBA's interior, averaging 1.1 steals per game for the 68-win Thunder.

Meanwhile, Thompson averaged 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocks per game for Houston, and the sophomore swinger immediately became one of the best outside defenders in the league. The Rockets' big contract for non-selling products is waving, but will Amen become the bargaining chip for trading Antetokounmpo? If you want a template Antetokounmpo or the real Antetokounmpo, leave Green and Shin Kyung behind! Old Fan Amen goes to change the letters? The Rockets management deserves deep thought

The best defensive second team

consists of Portland forward Tumani Kamara, Minnesota center Rudy Gobert, Memphis forward Jaylen Jackson Jr., Oklahoma City guard Jalen Williams and Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac.

Gobert was the best defensive player of last year and a four-time winner of the award, the eighth time he was selected for the best defensive team in his career. This is his first time in the second team, and Jackson -- the best defensive player of 2023 -- has now been selected for the best defensive team three times.

Meanwhile, Kamara, Williams and Zubac were all selected for the All-Defensive Team for the first time.

Balmer is also preparing a big contract for Zubac

The best defensive team is the penultimate award in this year's end-of-season awards program and will be awarded this year. The NBA All-A-Line will be announced tomorrow.
