The Cavaliers' record reached 9 wins and 5 losses, continuing to rank third in the Eastern Conference. The Grizzlies have a record of only 4 wins and 10 losses, ranking fourth from the bottom in the Western Conference. They are also the fourth team in the Western Conference to have lost 10 games after the Kings, Mavericks, and Pelicans.

Although the Grizzlies were playing away from home and Morant exited the game early due to injury, the Grizzlies were basically in the lead in the first three quarters. However, they suddenly collapsed in the last quarter, scoring only 16 points in a single quarter and losing by 16 points. In the end, they were reversed by the Cavaliers and had no chance to end their losing streak.

Mitchell still performed well today. He played 33 minutes and made 10 of 21 shots, 4 of 13 three-pointers, and 6 of 9 free throws. He scored a game-high 30 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals, with a plus-minus value of +4. Mitchell was in average form in the three quarters, but in the final quarter he scored 14 points, only 2 points less than the entire Grizzlies team, and successfully led the Cavaliers to a comeback victory.

For the Grizzlies, Morant exited the game due to calf soreness after only playing 6 minutes in the first quarter. Coward, the No. 11 pick, started for 25 minutes, making 3 of 9 shots, 2 of 6 three-pointers, and scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists.
