Redick: I feel comfortable letting Reeves make decisions at critical moments. He is a ruthless character.

Hupu News, October 30, NBA regular season, with Austin Reeves’ last-minute buzzer beater, the Lakers defeated the Timberwolves 116-115 away.

After the game, Lakers head coach JJ Redick was interviewed and talked about Reeves.

"This guy was born for the big scene, and I'm not surprised at all. He has done this many times in his career, and he has done it many times after I became the head coach of the Lakers, so I am very comfortable giving him the ball at critical moments in the game and letting him make the decision." Redick said.

"In my opinion, he has proven that he is a tough guy, and he did that last year. I think the whole league recognizes that he is a very good player. Maybe some people will struggle with which level he belongs to - I don't know, and I don't care. But last season, he did establish himself as a tough guy." Redick said.

"I think the most important thing is that he has become the leader of the team. He is one of the core leaders on the court - even the backbone. This is very important. This is what we want and what we need him to do, and he does it." Redick said.

Reeves started the game for 40 minutes and made 9 of 24 shots, 3 of 11 three-pointers, 7 of 7 free throws, 28 points, 1 rebound, 16 assists and 2 steals.
