On June 12, 40-year-old veteran PJ Tucker publicly denied the rumors through social media, denied the rumors that he would retire, and said bluntly: I am only 40 years old and can still fight, and I have never said that I have retired or even hinted.

PJ-Tucker's statement of denying retirement -

Important statement... We are in an era where we never do any quick verification and only forward messages from unknown sources, so I have to take time out of my vacation to clarify the facts so that you don't send me those nonsense again!

I never said retirement, or even gave any hint that that could happen. I am only 40 years old and I am 100% healthy, capable, and will continue to devote myself to the sport I devoted my life to - playing basketball.

Now, go do whatever you need.

This season, Tucker's annual salary is $11.54 million. He reached a departure agreement with the Clippers at the beginning of the season. Until this year's trading deadline, the Clippers traded Tucker to the Jazz, and then sent to the Heat and the Raptors, and were eventually cut by the Raptors. The Knicks first signed two 10-day short contracts with Tucker, and then signed a two-year contract with Tucker in early April, with the team option the second year.

This season, Tucker played only 3 games for the Knicks, averaging 3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in 19.3 minutes, and only played 1 game in the playoffs. All five key data were zero in 4 minutes.

So far in his career, Tucker has played for the Raptors, Suns, Rockets, Bucks, Heat, 76ers, Clippers and Knicks, playing 943 regular season games, averaging 28 minutes per game, scoring 6.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals. He followed the Bucks to win his first career championship in the 2020-21 season.
