In the first round of the playoffs, the Houston Rockets, ranked second in the West in the regular season, encountered the Golden State Warriors' bottom line, lost to their opponents 3-4 with a total score and were eliminated. After the series, Rockets' forward star Jabari Smith Jr. was interviewed by reporters, in which he also talked about the development of the team this season and his personal experience.

Smith said: It's a good season and we've experienced a lot of growth. This was our first 50-win season, and we also played a tiebreak with a very good and experienced team in the playoffs. I mean, looking back, it was a good year. Of course, it all depends on how you look at it, and we know that if we could handle it a little better, we could have gone further this season. We know our strength, and we know we can perform better than we have. So, to be honest, this result is actually a bit disappointing. I feel bad now, but overall, we still have reason to feel optimistic. When our emotions gradually calm down, we will find that this is actually a pretty good season. We have grown a lot and many of our players have gained self-confidence, which is also a very valuable asset.

In the NBA regular season this season, Smith played 57 games in 82 games, averaging 30.1 minutes per game, averaging 12.2 points, 7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.8 blocks, and 1.1 turnovers and 2.2 fouls. He shot 43.8%, three-point shooting percentage 35.4%, and free throw shooting percentage 82.5%. During the playoffs, Smith averaged 20.5 minutes in these seven games, with averaging 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.1 steals and 0.7 blocks, and 1.4 turnovers and 0.9 fouls. He shot 50% from the field, 45.5% from three-point shooting percentage and 80% from free throws.

Smith's performance during the playoffs is actually worthy of recognition. He also showed good scoring and shooting ability, but his playing time is very limited, which has decreased significantly compared to the regular season stage, which has also led to his data not being particularly ideal, and has also experienced some declines compared to the regular season stage. For Smith, he has made some progress this season, but on the other hand, his improvement in technology and basic skills is also very limited. If Smith wants to play a more important role in the team next time, he needs to work hard this summer, and he also needs to significantly improve his various shortcomings and weaknesses.
