The Minnesota Timberwolves conducted daily training during training camp. After the training, the team's backcourt star Anthony Edwards was interviewed by a sideline reporter. In the interview, he also talked about the Timberwolves' tactical changes in the new season plan and his personal goals in the new season.

When talking about the Timberwolves' tactic changes in the new season, Edwards said that the team will make more offensive and defensive conversions. He said: If Rudy Gobert grabs the rebound, then our current plans are only Mike Conley who will consider returning to defense. I think we did a terrible job in this last year because everyone was thinking about back defense, especially myself, because I just couldn't help but want to get the ball and start the attack. Speaking about my goals in the new season, Edwards said he hoped to win two honors: Defensive Player of the Year and MVP. He continued: I don’t think I can win Defensive Player of the Year, because I have two best defensive players on my team, so it’s hard for me to win, but I will put in more effort, regardless of the end result. I believe that as long as I can play my own influence every night, I have the opportunity to be selected for the best defensive team, and being able to do this means something of a great deal to me. Of course, MVP and championship are my biggest goals.

In the NBA regular season this season, Edwards made a total of 79 appearances in 82 games, averaging 36.3 minutes per game, averaging 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks, and 3.2 turnovers and 1.9 fouls, shooting percentage of 44.7%, three-point shooting percentage of 39.5%, and free throw shooting percentage of 83.7%. In the playoffs, Edwards made a total of 15 appearances, averaging 39 minutes of playing time, averaging 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks, and 2.6 turnovers and 2.1 fouls. His shooting percentage was 45.3%, three-point shooting percentage was 35.4%, and his free throw shooting percentage was 71.9%.

Edwards performed quite well last season. He was able to play a decisive role in both offense and defense. He also helped the team reach the Western Conference Finals for two consecutive years. However, Edwards was unable to help the team further attack the NBA championship. Edwards is undoubtedly a player with excellent comprehensive abilities, and we can also see that he still has great potential to explore, and he is also able to take on more responsibilities on both offense and defense. Next, we can also see what kind of performance he can perform in the new season, and can he make greater improvements in his performance based on the past two seasons?
