Celtics All-Stars Jaylen Brown and Christaps Porzingis talk about their upcoming playoff series against the Knicks.
The Eastern Conference Semi-finals series between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks are ready, with Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown updated the injury, and Christaps Porzingis expects it to be a tough fight. It was the first time Boston and the Knicks had faced head-on in a playoff series in more than a decade, adding more expectations to the game between the two rival cities.
defending champion Celtics will face the Knicks at home at TD Garden Arena on Monday for the defending champion. According to Boston Herald reporter Zach Cox, Brown talked about the importance of Boston's seven-game four-win series.
"This is a great stage for basketball. It's great to be able to relive these history in the historical clash between Boston and New York." "There's nothing more exciting than Boston vs. New York."
For Porzingis, this will be his first time in the playoff series to face the team that picked him with the fourth pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
"Even among fans," Porzingis said, "it will be a war." The Knicks advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals by a 116-113 victory over the Detroit Pistons in Game 6. They will face the Celtics, who beat the Orlando Magic 4-1 in the first round of the series.
After several days of rest, Brown is recovering from a right knee injury, and he said that his form is improving as the playoffs progress.
"I feel like my form is starting to get better," Brown said. "Sports are all good. Although I have had some other problems, I think I'm going in the right direction."
Jaylen Brown tested positive for injury and said he was moving in a 100% recovery direction.
Celtics starting guard Ju Holiday missed the last three games in the first round against the Magic due to a right hamstring injury. He was listed on the daily watch list before the Celtics’ second round series against the Knicks. Holiday won this year's Sports Ethics Award for the second time.
Jaylen Brown faces Celtics' first-round opponent
Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown is impressed by the fighting spirit he showed in the first round series against the Magic. While the Celtics easily won the series of seven and four wins in five games, Brown pays homage to the Magic’s high-level performance.
"It's a battle. It's a physical and mental battle with the Orlando Magic," Brown said. "Salute to them. There is a team that has to advance. Fortunately, it's us. But, I pay tribute to Orlando."
Celtics will prepare for the game against the Knicks on the weekend.
