According to the news released by Rockets Kelly Iko, some team sources said that in addition to coach Uduka, many of the Rockets' assistant coaches have also received attention from the league, but the Rockets are expected to enter the 2025-26 season with the same coaching staff.

Rockets ranked second in the Western Conference with a record of 52 wins and 30 losses in 2024-25, and this young and progressive team exceeded most reasonable expectations for their 2024-25 season. A year ago, the Rockets had a record of 41 wins and 41 losses, ranking 11th in the Western Conference. Such progress helped head coach Uduka win third place in the coach of the year vote, and the 47-year-old coach also received a contract extension from the team.

Based on this success, other teams in the league undoubtedly hope to have some members of the Rockets think tank. Assistant coach Ivy, for example, has been chased by multiple NBA teams this offseason. But it looks like Ive will stay with the team, and the rest of Uduka's coaching staff will stay.

According to its current composition, Uduka's assistant coaching team includes Ben Sullivan, Ivey, Garrett Jackson, Cam Hodges, Mike Moser and Will Dunn. Willy Cruz is the director of athletic performance, while Jason Byers is the Rockets' chief athletic trainer and director of athlete nursing and science.

All coaches were hired by Uduka during the 2023 offseason, and many of them had collaborative experiences while Uduka was a Celtic head coach or previous assistant coach.
