July 1st News Brazilian coach Ancelotti's son David Ancelotti was interviewed and talked about his current life and work situation, his situation when he left Real Madrid and his wishes for Real Madrid.

Q: How do you feel now?

Answer: I'm very good, very good. I'm enjoying a long vacation right now, which is not common to me. So I'm slowly getting used to it, but I feel good, have a good rest, and have enjoyed some family time, which is always great. I am also very happy to be involved in the Brazilian national team project and prepare for the World Cup. Most importantly, I can work with my dad.

Q: Do you remember the last time you had such a long vacation?

Answer: I remember it should have been ten years ago, after leaving Real Madrid in 2015. Since then, we went to Bayern, Naples, Everton, and then back to Real Madrid, and never stopped. So this holiday is right.

Q: But will this be a "real holiday"? Or will you watch all the Club World Cups and think about the matches against Chile and Bolivia in September?

Answer: Of course I will watch the game, but I won’t watch it all, because I have to take care of my family, otherwise I will be kicked out (laughs). It can be seen that my passion and habits for this work is difficult to completely disconnect. It’s always good to use this time to see the games, trends and new ideas around you.

Q: Do you like this Club World Cup?

A: According to the games I have seen, there are some games where players do face difficult conditions, especially European players, who have just finished a long season. The weather is very hot and the venue conditions are not as good as those here, so the players need to adapt. I think the game will be more exciting as the game enters the knockout stage. In addition, this Club World Cup also gives European fans the opportunity to see teams like Brazilian clubs and learn about some things that may not be seen normally. So, I really enjoyed it.

Q: Will you feel "missed" because you did not participate in the Club World Cup?

Answer: No, I don't feel this way. As I said before, I enjoy the moment now without any nostalgia. Only when looking back on the past can I feel proud and happy because we have achieved many things.

Q: I know you were originally planning to participate in the Club World Cup...

A: Yes, we did plan to do so at the beginning of the season, because our contract expires after the Club World Cup in 2026. But then things went very well and I think we ended the journey in the best way. Especially the farewell ceremony for us at the Bernabeu Stadium is very rare. It will be an unforgettable moment for me, and I believe it will be the same for my father.

Q: Are you crying very hard?

Answer: Yes, I cried. And this is also a help to us, because we are both people who are easily moved. We can say we all cried many times. I think I have more than him. We are all such people, and crying is nothing to us because we are such people. This is true for the whole family. My sister, my father, and even my grandfather...

Q: What was the moment when you two were alone when you said goodbye that day?

Answer: I won't say there are any particularly romantic or dramatic moments. I can't speak for him, but we have the same thoughts and feelings: it's an extraordinary stage that ends in the best way. We know the significance of this club, and it is very rare to be able to leave Real Madrid in this way. So we feel very grateful and happy. I believe he also enjoyed his last day as Real Madrid head coach. You can feel this. Having the opportunity to speak to the fans, taking photos with family on the court, taking pictures with all the trophys… it was a very good day.

Q: What touched you the most? Is it your father's farewell ceremony or your own departure?

Answer: This is a good question. I think there are both. There is a saying in Spanish and Italian: "put yourself in your shoes." As an assistant coach, I often stand in his position. So, this farewell is very touching. And not just the farewell at the Bernabeu, but also the farewell to the people we had been with for a long time that week, we established a very deep relationship.

It is because of these relationships that leaving is difficult, but at the same time, we should be grateful for it. We could have left in other ways, as often happens in this profession. So, it is an honor to say goodbye like this. Life continues now, Real Madrid will continue to win…I hope we can keep moving forward too.
