Benjamin Cesco becomes Manchester United s sixth Bundesliga transfer in the 2025/2026 season: Will it fail like Jaden Sancho?

Manchester United once again demonstrated its aggressiveness in the transfer market. Premier League elite clubs have just made an official offer to RB Leipzig's young striker Benjamin Sesco.

If this transfer is realized, Benjamin Cesco will become the sixth player in Manchester United to have experience in playing in the German Bundesliga in the 2025/2026 season.

Football reporter reported that Manchester United provided Sesko with an initial transfer fee of £65.2 million. The amount could increase to £73.8 million through a series of additional terms. RB Leipzig has accepted the offer, which is also comparable to Newcastle's proposal.

However, Benjamin Cesco chose to throw himself into Manchester United's arms rather than accepting Newcastle's invitation. If individual negotiations go well, the Slovenia player will soon wear the Red Devils' jersey.

The following are five other players in the Manchester United lineup who have played in the Bundesliga:

Nusil Mazravie

Nusil Mazravie became one of the most outstanding players on Manchester United's 2024/2025 season defense line. When the team's performance was ups and downs, the player from Morocco performed very stably and became an important pillar on the defensive end. His solid performance allowed him to continue to be trusted as a starter.

Nusir Mazravi is not the new face in the Bundesliga. Before joining Manchester United, he played for Bayern Munich after two seasons in Ajax Amsterdam. In Germany, Nusir Mazlawi developed into a modern right-back who not only has strong defense but also has a good support for offense.

Matis de Litt

Matis de Litt also joined Manchester United from Bayern Munich, following in the footsteps of Nusir Mazravi. Both are from Ajax youth training and were part of a sensational team that reached the Champions League semi-finals in the 2018/2019 season. Mattis de Litt is known for his tough centre-back and leadership he showed at a young age.

Before strengthening Bayern, De Ligt played for Juventus briefly, who hoped that he could replace George Chiellini. Although his performance in Italy is not entirely convincing, he showed improvements during his wearer's jersey. His experience in the Bundesliga also made him a more mature player before joining Manchester United.

Matteus Cunia is also included in the roster of Manchester United players with a Bundesliga background. Despite being introduced from Wolves, Cunia played for RB Munich from 2018 to 2020. He then continued his career at Hertha Berlin and Atletico Madrid before joining the Wolves.

Cunha's performance continued to rise, eventually shining with Wolves in the Premier League, scoring 17 goals throughout the 2024/2025 season. It is this acuity that has attracted Manchester United's attention, and Manchester United needs some power to add to the forward line.

Jaden Sancho

Jaden Sancho is now on the verge of leaving Old Trafford. The England player was not in the plan of coach Ruben Amorin and was not even brought to the preseason. The club has asked him to find a new team to continue his career.

Sancho is a Manchester City youth training player, but his name began to resound in football while playing for Dortmund. In the Bundesliga, he performed well in the 2019/2020 season, scoring 16 goals and sending 18 assists. However, he has not been able to replicate the performance again since he returned to England to join Manchester United.

Joshua Zikezee

Joshua Zikezee joined Manchester United as a long-term event on the forward line. He was recruited from Bologna after his outstanding performance in Serie A. However, before shining in Serie A, Zickze was a graduate of Bayern Munich's Youth Training Academy.

Joshua Zickzee played for Bayern's main team in 2018, but it was difficult to get a regular position. He has been loaned to Parma and Anderlecht for increased flight time. After a great performance with Bologna, Manchester United finally signed it at the beginning of the 2024/2025 season as a new option for the forward line.
