De Bruyne s potential replacement "agrees" to transfer after Guardiola "calls"

Manchester City coach Guardiola and Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wilz reportedly suffered a major blow as they would lose Leverkusen's outstanding player Florian Wilz.

Manchester City are expected to be very busy during this summer transfer window as the 2024/25 season is disappointing for the Premier League team.

Guardiola's side experienced a serious decline during the New Year, with them exiting the Premier League title battle and becoming Europe's largest spending team in January and undergoing a massive reconstruction.

Manchester City have improved in form in recent weeks, they have reached the FA Cup final and are likely to qualify for the Champions League, but still need to improve in several positions.

One of their first priority is signing a long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who will leave the club after his contract expires this summer.

Wilz is considered a potential target, and recently reported that Manchester City had "acted decisively" to sign the £94 million Leverkusen star, who is Guardiola "decisively" to get.

The 22-year-old is one of the world's most talented attacking midfielders and is in a very good form this season, scoring 16 goals and 13 assists in various competitions.

Wilz may leave Leverkusen this summer with Xavi Alonso after confirming that this will be Wirtz's last season coaching in the Bundesliga.

Earlier this week, German journalist Christian Falk said that City was ahead of Real Madrid in the competition to sign Wiltz.

"I even heard that Real Madrid hasn't asked him yet," Falke said.

I think Manchester City is more enthusiastic and determined than Real Madrid. It is said that Pep even made a phone call himself. Florian obviously appreciates it very much, but he still leans towards Bayern.

"About Bayern's tendency, verbal commitment, we have reported that he wants to go to Bayern, which looks good, but of course we always have to deal with the source of funds, and Bayern has its own ideas."

On Friday night, Falk provided another latest news, revealing that Wilz and Bayern Munich had "an agreement on the transfer."

He claimed Bayern Munich “want to offer” €100 million (about £85 million) to sign Wilz this summer, but if no agreement with Leverkusen on transfer fees is not possible, he “will wait until 2026” as his contract will last until 2027.
