German media: Düsseldorf introduces Israeli striker, but his controversial remarks related to Gaza fail

August 6 Yahoo Sports reported that the German second-tier team Dusseldorf gave up signing Israeli striker Sean Weisman due to fans' protests. According to Biography, the move stems from strong dissatisfaction with its social media remarks related to the Gaza War.
Fans' anger spread rapidly on the Internet when news broke that Wesman would transfer from Granada to Düsseldorf on Monday. The club's official Twitter statement on Tuesday: "After in-depth investigation, we finally decided not to sign Sean Weisman." Although the specific reason was not explained, Bild disclosed that the club's move was a response to Weisman's controversial post, when the player who had completed the physical examination had arrived in Düsseldorf.
The center forward, who played for Israel 33 times, posted several controversial posts after the outbreak of the Gaza War. Biography said that its remarks include "erase Gaza from the map" and "dropping 200 tons of bombs", and Weisman also liked the post "There are no innocent people in Gaza, no warning is needed."
Although he quickly deleted the content and admitted that he made an impulse mistake, an online petition initiated by Düsseldorf fans on Monday pointed out that these insulting and discriminatory remarks were completely contrary to the values advocated by the club.
Wesman had been protesting against fans during his previous play in Granada. According to Biography, Dusseldorf originally planned to jointly issue an apology with him after signing, but in the end, he did not sign the player under pressure
