Official: Leeds United will expand its home stadium, with the stadium capacity expanding from 37,645 to 53,000

April 29th, Leeds United, the Premier League promoted team next season, officially announced that it will expand its home stadium, with the stadium capacity expanding from 37,645 to 53,000.

Leeds United official wrote: "The Executive Committee of Leeds City Council unanimously adopted the reconstruction vision last week. Councillors will discuss the pre-application for the modernization of Elland Road Stadium at a planning group meeting on Thursday, May 8, 2025, with the goal of increasing the stadium capacity from 37,645 to up to 56,500. The final capacity of the design plan is expected to be approximately 53,000."

"This renovation is a continuation and upgrade of the unique charm of Elland Road Stadium, mainly including a comprehensive renovation of the West and North Stands, as well as some changes to the South Stands, aiming to significantly improve the quality of ordinary seats and high-end reception facilities to meet the growing demand for viewing. Currently, 26,000 fans are waiting for the season ticket waiting list for the club."
