Purple Lily buys out Goodmondsson and introduces Empoli young player Fazini; Wuji renews his contract with the captain

On June 24, local time in Italy, the Fiorentina Club officially announced on its official website that it would activate the buyout clause to sign Icelandic striker Alberto Gudmondsson who joined on loan from Genoa this season.

28-year-old Goodmondsson is a key player of Purple Lily this season, helping the team rank sixth in the Serie A and qualify for the UEFA Cup. The club posted a message on its official website confirming that they have exercised the buyout option to sign the Iceland international forever.

Godmondsson played 24 times in the 2024-25 season for Fiorentina and scored 6 goals, assisted 2 goals, and also played 8 times in the UEFA Cup. He scored 2 goals and assisted 1 time.

Florence did not announce the specific fees paid to Genoa by signing Goodmont. Goodmondsson has a buyout clause of 17 million euros in his loan contract, but according to reports from Italian media and German transfer market websites, Purple Lily bought out the Icelandic striker for a slightly lower fee of 13 million.

Fiorentina has begun recruiting troops in the transfer market, and it is reported that they are also planning to sign Fenerbahce center Dzeko. On June 25, local time, the Florence Club officially announced on its official website that it would introduce 22-year-old Italian U21 international Jagob Fazini from Empoli. It is reported that the transfer fee is 10 million euros, plus the bonus terms.

Udinese officially announced on his official website that he would renew his contract with 32-year-old French striker Florian Towan until June 2026.
