Ramos: This is a historic moment; our thinking is very clear

On June 26, Monterrey defeated Urawa Red Diamonds 4-0 and successfully advanced to the top 16 of the Club World Cup. After the game, Monterrey Captain Ramos accepted an interview with the media.

"To be honest, it's a very serious game and we have a very clear mind," Ramos said. "From the beginning, I pressed high and regained the ball in the opponent's half."

"I think this is also a historic moment for our club. It's a dream, the entire team has put in great effort and everyone works together. Although the first two games were a bit difficult, we handled this game well and I'm very happy to be able to advance to the quarterfinals."

According to Ramos, the team will take a short break and start preparing for the game against Dortmund. Despite not long since joining the club, Ramos has resonated with Monterrey's history and thanked for the opportunity to celebrate the club's 80th anniversary with such an important result.

"Personally, it's been a little extra motivation to be here for just a few months to be able to play at the best in a competition like the Club World Cup and compete with the strongest teams in the world. It's the reward for our hard work along the way, we've reaped results in the group stage, and the next game can be said to be a final," he added.
