October 18th After the Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, the tense relationship between Luis Enrique and reporter Susanna Guash became the focus. In a recent interview, journalist Suzanne Guash explained the origins of her professional rift with this and other famous coaches.

After the Champions League final, your interaction with Luis Enrique became a hot topic again. What happened?

During the celebration of winning the championship, Enrique walked to the interview area and prepared to be interviewed by Monica Marchante, Alvaro Benito and me. However, his opening words set the tone for the meeting: "I'm here for Monica. You all know that. For Alvarito a little, a little less. For you, less, for you, very little," he said, pointing at me.

What do you think of what he said at that time?

I regret that this incident has overshadowed the work of my colleague Monica Marchante, who has been with PSG all season. She got the most important interview that day, but it was unfair that everyone's attention was diverted because of one sentence. I actually met Luis Enrique’s wife and daughter that morning, and they were both “very charming.”

What is the source of the conflict between you and Enrique?

To understand the origins of the conflict, we have to go back nearly a decade to the years when Luis Enrique was coaching Barcelona. At the time, I was covering club news and my post-match interviews didn't always go over well with the coach. After one particularly tense match, Enrique responded sternly: "Your analysis is superficial and pointless. It has nothing to do with the analysis of professionals." Since then, our relationship has become somewhat frosty.

I just did my job and asked the questions I needed to ask. He has a strong personality and that was evident and he was in a very stressful moment that day. But that's where it ended.

You seem to have had friction with other coaches, such as Zidane and Mourinho?

That's it, you know? He (Enrique) had his character and then things fell apart, but something similar happened to me with Mourinho. I had it with Zidane too. With Zidane, very few people would have an argument with him, but I did. But what happened? Why weren't those things reported? Why didn't it cause an uproar? Um? Because, this Spanish woman, because he was a fatherly figure, and stuff like that, of course. But when I say something good, or anything else about Barcelona, Luis Enrique, Guardiola, it doesn't become viral news because no one is interested.

Will you interview Luis Enrique in the future?

Of course. It doesn’t have to be a light conversation, but I’m the reporter and he’s the coach. If there's a chance, I'll do it.
