Hupu reported on October 15 that Tottenham Hotspur issued an official statement.

Fabio Paratici returns to the club as sporting director. Fabio will join forces with John Lange, who has also been promoted to sporting director.

This is part of a new structure for men’s football operations, designed to strengthen leadership, collaboration and long-term decision-making in all areas of men’s and youth football.

Together they will lead the men’s football strategy and start an ambitious new chapter for the club. The changes are part of the club’s ongoing investment in creating a world-class structure for both men’s and women’s football, designed to ensure continued success for players on the pitch.

John and Fabio’s expertise will ensure that every decision, from player development pathways and performance development to scouting and recruiting, is aligned and supports one overarching goal—to build a durable, winning, world-class men’s soccer team.

This partnership exemplifies a progressive approach to modern football operations - two experienced leaders with complementary experiences working together to share a commitment to collaboration and innovation.

Fabio has worked at Juventus for more than ten years and spent a period of growth at Sampdoria Football Club before returning to the club from 2021 to 2023.

"I'm delighted to be returning to the club I love. I have been working as a consultant with John, Vinay and Thomas for several months and now I'm looking forward to returning to London and joining the team on a full-time basis. I am confident that, working hand in hand with John, we can create an exceptional future for the club and our fans."

John Langer joined the club in November 2023 after holding key roles at Aston Villa and Copenhagen Football Club.

"I firmly believe that we are building something special at Tottenham Hotspur and I look forward to working with Fabio as part of our new men's squad.

We have a talented group of staff and players at the club and we can look to the future with confidence and positivity."

Tottenham Hotspur CEO Vinay Venkatesham said

"This is an important change in the way we operate. Today's sporting director's responsibilities are very wide-ranging, and by bringing together two outstanding leaders in John and Fabio, we will lay the foundation for continued success.

They are both outstanding of football talent, with complementary expertise and a stellar record. This structure reflects our ambition and our determination to compete at the highest level for our fans.

Fabio and John will jointly lead the team to not only build a competitive men's team, but also create an interconnected football ecosystem, so that every detail is dedicated to our common goal: to make our club a benchmark of excellence in world football. "

To complete this structure, the club will also soon commence the recruitment of a Director of Football Operations, who will assist John and Fabio and manage a number of key functions and departments within the training centre.
