Hupu News on October 23 After the 1-5 defeat to Chelsea, Ajax captain Kenneth Taylor accepted an interview with ZiggoSport and apologized to the team.

Why did you commit that foul?

"I knew that was a red card-prone foul. I went over the ball and stepped on his ankle. It was a little chaotic and I was just trying to seize the opportunity so they couldn't counterattack or something like that.

Then, unfortunately, I stepped on his (Bonanotte, editor's note) ankle."

Taylor then explained the game plan before the red card was shown. The midfielder's red card meant Ajax's pre-match game plans were scrapped.

"We were a little tighter than usual. That's how we train. Then I got a red card and, of course, things became very difficult for the team. Of course, you feel bad when you leave the pitch," he said.

Despite the result, the 23-year-old midfielder is still proud of his teammates.

"They tried their best to make up for their mistakes. In the end, you lost, and I feel responsible."

Finally, someone mentioned that Ajax is currently at the bottom of the Champions League standings. What does Taylor think this means?

"It means we obviously need to improve. But what I want to say is: if we get a red card early, then it will obviously be difficult," he concluded.
