November 25th: Recently there was news that Cancelo may return to Juventus, and famous reporter Romano completely denied that any negotiations are ongoing.

Recently, the possibility of Joao Cancelo returning to Serie A has once again surfaced in the transfer market. Many Juventus fans therefore expect that this reunion will strengthen Juventus' wing strength. However, this excitement did not last long.

Romano revealed that Juventus is not operating Cancelo’s transfer at this stage. There were no in-depth negotiations between the two parties, and Juventus did not actually have any active contact with the player's agent Jorge Mendes. No concrete developments took place behind the scenes. Therefore, the current rumors remain in the speculation stage. The core issue is economic.

Cancelo’s salary is much higher than the financial affordability of Serie A clubs. Romano emphasized that this is still the biggest obstacle to his return to Serie A. Players need to accept a completely different salary structure. If this condition is not met, any return scenario is unrealistic.

Romano also pointed out that Juventus is focusing on other priorities. The club is developing a prudent summer strategy and must control costs and balance squad needs with long-term health. Unless Cancelo's personal requirements change significantly, he is not part of the plan.

He also pointed out that the entire Serie A environment faces similar financial constraints. Few Italian clubs can afford Cancelo's current wages. Any transfer would require a huge financial compromise from the player, and there are currently no signs of such a move.

Romano summed up the current situation in firm terms: Rumors may still be circulating, but they do not reflect the real dynamics of the negotiations. Cancelo's future will still not be linked to the Serie A side in the short term. Juventus will monitor market developments but are not pursuing the Portuguese star.

The 31-year-old Cancelo can serve as a left and right full-back. He transferred from Manchester City to Riyadh Crescent for 25 million euros last summer. The current transfer price in Germany is 15 million euros. This season he has only played 4 times and provided 1 assist. It is reported that he has asked Xinyue to let him leave the team because he is dissatisfied with his playing time.
