Alonso said he felt relaxed after Real Madrid's home victory in Almaty. He believes his team is disciplined and successfully achieved its stated goals.

Real Madrid performed well at the Almaty Stadium on the second match day of the 2025/2026 Champions League, on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) evening Indonesia time. The final ended with a 5-0 score, giving them a full six in the first two games.

Killian Mbappe attracted everyone's attention with his hat trick. Meanwhile, Eduardo Camavenga and Brim Diaz also contributed goals, adding icing on the cake to the Madrid feast.

For Alonso, this victory proved the team's sincerity. He stressed that Real Madrid is now ready to turn their attention to domestic matches against Villarreal and a major showdown with Juventus.

Alonso's comments

Alonso said that Kazakhstan's 5-0 victory has demonstrated the team's mentality and determination. He believes that every player follows the instructions and plays with a high degree of discipline.

The manager from Spain stressed that the journey of the Champions League is still long. So, maintaining momentum is key until you face your next big game.

"We came here to win the game, this is the Champions League, we want to have a good start, now we have accumulated six points, and we will face Juventus at home next." Alonso said on the club's official website.

"We scored five goals, reached the goal, and performed well. The players showed their commitment and executed the instructions well. Now we will consider Villarreal." Alvarez added.

Opening pressure

Alonso does not deny that Madrid had difficulties at the beginning of the game. Carriat adopted a radical style of play, and made Real Madrid feel a little pressure through high-pressure.

However, Arda Goul's role in the midfield became a key point in the game. The young midfielder successfully created space and connected the offenses, which eventually turned into goals.

"We started off with a little uncomfortable. They put a lot of pressure on us," Alonso said.

"But when we were able to connect the game with Arda, we found the players in the frontcourt and created opportunities to break through the opponent's pressure," he explained.
