May 14th Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand believes that Amorin hopes to cut half of the players in the current roster and needs at least two transfer windows to build a team that conforms to his tactical philosophy.

Ferdinand: "I think he looks around the locker room and thinks 'If I can swing the magic wand, at least 50% of the players will not be here for the next five years' because they are not good enough and not suitable for his style of play. I feel like he needs at least two good transfer windows, not only to clean up the players who don't need, but to bring in the players who really need it."

"A lot of things have to go smoothly so we can turn things around. He is trying to get the players to understand what he wants, but that leads to a continued bad record in the Premier League. He needs to bring in dynamic players. I don't want those mavericks or fancy players, no, what I need is players who can run and fight against the ones who are overwhelming in the game."
