Liverpool has contacted Newcastle to inquire about the purchase of Alexander Isaac, whose transfer could cost as much as £130 million.

Liverpool is preparing to break the £100 million mark for the second time

Reporter David Ornstein revealed that Liverpool has contacted Newcastle to inquire about forward Alexander Isaac's transfer. Liverpool has not yet made a specific offer, but if the deal is reached, the amount will certainly not be less than £100 million, which will be comparable to the deal to spend £120 million to introduce Florian Wilz.

Onstein said in sports media that Liverpool knew Newcastle was not going to sell Alexander Isaac, or at least Newcastle told other clubs that it was their intention, but Liverpool was not entirely clear about their actual intentions. Despite this, Liverpool sent greetings as they also wanted to know what Alexander Isaac thought personally.

It is worth noting that German media recently revealed that Newcastle has contacted Frankfurt to ask forward Hugo Ekitic about the situation. The transfer is currently temporarily stranded as Frankfurt has not agreed to Newcastle's offer of about £70 million. Personally, Ekitic has not officially accepted Newcastle's invitation.

This progress is very important for Liverpool officials as it shows that Newcastle is also preparing for the possibility of Isaac leaving the club, although they have not agreed to the sale. According to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Telegraph , Isaac is no longer as keen to stay in Newcastle as before, because Newcastle has not yet invited him to renew his contract.

Why is Ekitic the target of Liverpool and Newcastle?

Mokbel said that Alexander Isaac had been promised to sign two years ago, but Newcastle has not made any move until now. Newcastle seems to be worried that they may be punished for the Premier League’s financial equity policy, so apart from Alexander Isaac, the Magpies are quite cautious in signings this year, bringing in only Anthony Ellanda from Nottingham Forest.

Isaac currently receives a salary of £120,000 a week and hopes to get a higher reward when renewing his contract, so his relationship with the club is not harmonious. So if Isaac gets promised to earn around £200,000 per week, he might accept Liverpool’s invitation.

Liverpool has made a budget for Isaac's transfer, which may reach £130 million. But if Newcastle still insists on not selling Isaac, Liverpool will turn to Ekitic. The French striker's transfer fee could be as high as £80 million.

Liverpool's current focus is on introducing a center, because now only Darwin Nunes is in this position, and Darwin Nunes is invited by Naples and Alsiral at the same time. Coach Arne Slott has plans to keep Jaden Danes in that position on the first team, but Dennis is still young and is only suitable for the substitute at the moment. In addition to Alexander Isaac and Ekitic, there has been recent news that Liverpool has sent someone to meet Crystal Palace center Jean-Philippe Mateta in France.
