On August 20, UEFA official website reported that the rules for the Champions League draw in the new season remain unchanged, and the Europa League and the European Cup merged to draw lots.

The draws for the Champions League will be the same as last season, while the draws for the UEFA Cup and Europa League will be combined into a special show. This year's Champions League group stage draw will be held in Monaco on August 28, and the process is exactly the same as last year. The 36 participating teams will be divided into four levels according to their respective coefficient rankings, and the defending Champions League champion will be the first seed team. Starting from the first gear, draw lots through automatic software (already used last year) ensures that each team plays one home and away game with teams in the other three levels and will not meet teams in the same association, and at most there will be only two opponents from the same association. The specific schedule and kick-off time of the Champions League match will be announced before August 30.

Novel draws for the Europa League and Europa League: What's new about this season is that the group draws for the Europa League and Europa League will be merged into a special for the first time, broadcast live on the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, simplifying content and maximizing the influence of the two draws. The event will be held on August 29 and clubs and fans can watch to get to know their opponents. The two draws will be conducted in a fully digital manner, using the same digital technology as last year to ensure the fast and efficient completion of the draw process. The system can draw opponents one by one, or complete all pairings with one click.

After the Europa League draw ends, the European Cup draw will be held immediately. The lottery results will be announced gradually, starting from the first level, maintaining the audience's suspense and clarity. The match schedule will be formulated after the draw and will be announced before August 31.

Draw software for all three events is provided by AELive. Since becoming UEFA partners in September 2023, they have developed and tested the software and conducted over 1 million simulations to ensure randomness and compliance with lottery rules. Independent audit company Ernst & Young will review and control the lottery operation. UEFA official website will provide free lottery live broadcasts on August 28 and 29.
