Record front page: Liverpool pays attention to Portuguese center defender Debaste, with a release fee of 80 million euros

Hupu reported on October 9th that one of the three major Portuguese newspapers, Record, reported on the front page that because Liverpool is likely to be unable to sign Marc Guei in the winter window/next summer, Sporting CP central defender Debast has become their target.

Of course, the Record is following up on the news from the Dutch website VoetbalNieuws yesterday, and the Dutch claim that in addition to Debast, the 25-year-old Dutchman Sven Botman (plays for Newcastle United) and the 23-year-old Ecuadorian William Pacho (plays for Paris Saint-Germain) are also on Liverpool's inspection list.

In addition, there is... Diomande, who is naturally the most rumored choice with the Premier League team.

Interested in this development are Anderlecht. Sporting CP signed De Bastet for 15.5 million euros in 2024, but the committed transfer fee may be as high as 21 million euros - the current part paid is 18 million euros, plus 15% of the second transfer share.

By reviewing the reports and accounts released through the Portuguese Securities Commission (CMVM) and its own channels on September 11, we found that Debast's transfer fee has exceeded 18 million euros:

Of which 15.5 million euros are fixed to Anderlecht, and the other 2 million euros are used for bonuses. In addition, there were nearly 800,000 euros in other expenses, apparently commissions related to the deal.

The central defender's contract with the club will last until 2029 and contains a release clause of 80 million euros.
