June 11th, FIFA announced the list of the Technical Research Group (TSG) for the 2025 Club World Cup on its official website. The group will conduct cutting-edge analysis of all competitions and enhance global understanding of football.

Led by FIFA's global football development director Wenger, the TSG lineup includes Cambiaso (Argentina), Cice (Senegal), Tobin Heath (US), Klinsmann (Germany), Roberto Martinez (Spain), Gilberto Silva (Brazil) and Pascal Zuberble (Switzerland). TSG is a team of experts composed of national team coaches and former players who are responsible for observing games, identifying tactical trends and innovations, and leveraging the data and insights provided by the football performance insight team to illustrate these trends. The identified trends will be released at the FIFA Training Centre for free access to all. In addition, TSG is also responsible for selecting individual award winners and fair competition winners in FIFA events. The expertise of TSG members enables them to accurately highlight and analyze technical trends encountered in the competition. In addition to analyzing actions on the field, TSG also studies the trends and benchmarks of future football development, and its impact on coaching education and talent development.

The questions raised by the group include: How does football evolve? What are the future trends? What are the key elements of the competition? Statistical analysis allows teams to gain a deeper understanding of what they are seeing and supports these impressions through metrics and numbers, helping them analyze their opponents and themselves.

Wenger said: "We gathered a group of experts from different cultures and around the world, with rich experience and real expertise, and we hope to describe, analyze and explain what is happening on the field to inspire technologists and fans across the board."

"We will not only collect more data than before, but also strive to find the right balance between technical expertise and data. We hope to convey the technical observations of the Club World Cup directly to people during the game, not in a few months."
